Battery Cable Replacement and Routing




When replacing battery cables, be sure to use replacement cables that are the same type, gage and length.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Battery ground (negative) cable.
2. Battery (positive) cable from battery.
3. Battery (positive) cable nut and cable from the accessory wiring junction block.
4. Battery ground (negative) cable bolt/screw from inner fender.
5. Battery ground (negative) cable nut and cable from transaxle stud.
6. Battery (positive) cable from starter motor "BAT" terminal.
7. Battery cable retainers from lower tie bar.
8. Battery cables from vehicle.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Battery cables to vehicle.
2. Battery cable retainers to lower tie bar.
3. Battery (positive) cable to starter motor "BAT" terminal.
4. Battery ground (negative) cable and cable nut to transaxle stud.
Tighten
^ Nut to 25 N.m (18 lb. in.).
5. Battery ground (negative) cable and cable bolt/screw to inner fender.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
6. Battery (positive) cable and cable nut to accessory wiring junction block.
Tighten
^ Nut to 16 N.m (12 lb. ft.).
7. Battery (positive) cable to battery.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 16 N.m (12 lb. ft.).
8. Battery ground (negative) cable.
