DTC B0860 IPC Crank Signal Circuit Malfunction:
DTC B0860 IPC Crank Signal Circuit Malfunction:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The IP cluster monitors the crank signal input circuit in order to determine when the engine is cranking.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The IP cluster crank signal input circuit remains high for 60 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The IPC will set a DTC if CKT 1035 remains high for more than 60 seconds.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
^ A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive fault free ignition cycles.
^ History and current DTC(s) can be cleared by using a scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
1. An intermittent problem may be caused by an intermittent short to B+ voltage on CKT 1035.
2. Inspect the IPC connector terminal AS. Determine if terminal A5 is and shorted to B+ voltage.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. This step inspects for a short to B+ voltage on CKT 1035. The CKT 1035 should be low when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position and the engine is not OFF.
