Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair
The content of this article reflects the changes identified in TSB 05-03-08-006.REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the nuts (1) from the link bolt assemblies.
3. Remove the link bolts (3).
4. Remove the link assemblies (2).
5. Remove the insulator clamp bolts (3).
6. Remove the clamps (2).
7. Remove the stabilizer shaft (4).
8. Remove the insulators (1).
9. Inspect all of the parts for wear and damage.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the insulators (1) to the stabilizer shaft (4).
IMPORTANT: Place the insulators on the stabilizer shaft with the slits facing toward the front of the vehicle.
2. Install the stabilizer shaft (4).
3. Install the clamps (2) over the insulators and the stabilizer shaft.
4. Install insulator clamp bolts (3).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4.1. Tighten the bolts to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) (15 series).
4.2. Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm (39 ft. lbs.) (25 series).
5. Install the link assemblies (2).
6. Install the link bolts (3).
7. Install the nuts (1) to the link bolt assemblies.
- Tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Continue tightening the nut until 2-4 threads protrude above the nut.
8. Remove the safety stands
9. Lower the vehicle.
