Safety Belt Warning
The BCM will provide an audible warning intended to remind the driver to fasten the seat belt at the beginning of each drive cycle. The seat belt switch signal to the BCM is provided via CKT 238 (BLK/WHT). The seat belt chime will sound at the rate of 50 time per minute for a period of 8 seconds after the initial ignition 1 input to the BCM. After 8 seconds the chime will cease but the BCM will continue to send the illuminate fasten seat belt lamp message to the instrument cluster. Once the ignition is turned on, the lamp will illuminate solidly for 20 seconds, then flash for an additional 55 seconds unless the drivers seat belt is fastened. Once the belt is fastened or the time expires, the lamp will go off. The seat belt chime will sound when all of the following inputs to the BCM are met:^ The seat belt switch input to the BCM is active (unbuckled)
^ Ignition 1 input is active.
