Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

How to clear each individual DTC is covered in its respective diagnostic trouble code table. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Tables. Testing and Inspection

In Most Cases
1. The Automatic 4WD Transfer Case (ATC) Control Module will clear the DTC if the condition for setting the DTC no longer exists.
2. A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present.
3. History DTCs can be cleared using a scan tool. Refer to manufactures scan tool directions for that function.
