Turn Signal Reminder

The BCM will provide an audible warning intended to remind the driver that the turn signal has been left on for an extended driving distance. The turn signal chime will sound when the turn signal is left on for a distance of more than .75 miles. The left and right turn signal input to the BCM is provided via CKT 14 (LT BLU) and CKT 15 (DK BLU) respectively from the turn/hazard switch. Also, the BCM receives a Vehicle Speed Signal (VSS) via CKT 817 (DK GRN/WHT) for speed and distance calculation. The turn signal reminder chime will use a tone that is synchronized with the turn signal input (and lamp) to the BCM. The turn signal reminder chime will sound when all of the following inputs to the BCM are met:
- Ignition 1 or ignition 3 is active.
- Left or right only (not both) turn signal switch is active.
- The vehicle has traveled further than .75 miles. (VSS input)
