B1071

Circuit Description
DTC B1071 is an indication of a potential internal Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) malfunction.

Conditions for Setting the DTC
An internal malfunction has occurred in the SDM or an AIR BAG deployment has been commanded.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
^ The SDM sets a diagnostic trouble code.
^ The SDM attempts to turn on the AIR BAG warning indicator.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
This DTC cannot be cleared.

Diagnostic Aids
DTC B1071 indicates a fault within the SDM. Replace the SDM if DTC B1071 sets, current or history.
