Circuit Description
The suspension control module receives a lift/dive signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Under normal conditions, the suspension control module provides a 5 volt reference voltage to the PCM. The PCM grounds this circuit when the vehicle is accelerating rapidly (LIFT) or braking hard (DIVE). When the lift/dive signal goes low (approximately 0 volts), the suspension control module commands all four dampers to a FIRM or ON condition.


Conditions for Setting the DTC
The DTC is set when the suspension control module does not sense the low-to-high transition on the lift/dive line within 31 seconds after the ignition is turned ON.
The DTC turns HISTORY when the suspension control module senses the low-to-high transition on the lift/dive signal from the PCM during a valid test period.


Action Taken When the DTC Sets
1. The suspension control module lift/dive function will be disabled.
2. The vehicle will pitch more during a braking or wide open throttle condition.
3. DTC C0665 will be stored in memory.


Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
^ The suspension control module no longer detects a malfunction with the lift/dive circuit.
^ Use the scan tool. A history DTC will clear after not seeing the malfunction for 100 consecutive ignition cycles.


Diagnostic Aids
If there are any PCM DTC's, perform the diagnosis for the PCM DTC's first.
As part of the vehicle diagnostic system, the PCM toggles the lift/dive line within 31 seconds after the ignition is turned ON. This allows the suspension control module to determine if the line is faulted or not. A retry is attempted every four minutes until successful.
An intermittent short circuit condition to ground or an open circuit condition in the lift/dive circuit may cause a random firm/soft ride condition.


Test Description
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
2. Checks the current state of the signal. Normal state is inactive.
3. Checks the control module if can tool the input.
4. Checks the PCM.
5. Test the Lift/Dive signal circuit for a short to ground.
8. The replacement Suspension Control Module must be calibrated.
