Brake Shoe Inspection
Inspection ProcedureImportant: Inspect the brake shoes whenever you inspect for excessive pedal travel. Refer to Brake Pedal Travel in Hydraulic Brakes.
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rubber plug from the brake back plate.
3. Through the hole of the back plate, visually inspect for thickness of the brake shoe lining (2).
^ The brake shoe lining should be 1.0 - 10.0 mm (0.04 - 0.39 inch).
4. If the lining thickness is less than the specified value, replace with new brake shoes.
