Antenna: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the radio antenna lead from the antenna extension cable, near the junction block beneath the left side of the instrument pane
2. Attach a piece of mechanics wire to the antenna lead in order to aid in the removal and installation of the antenna cable through the windshield side pillar.
3. Remove the 2 screws which secure the radio antenna to the windshield side pillar.
4. Remove the antenna (1) from the vehicle by gently pulling the antenna cable up through the windshield side pillar with the mechanics wire attached.




5. Remove the mechanics wire from the antenna lead (2).
6. Leave the mechanics wire in the windshield side pillar in order to aid in the antenna installation procedure.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the mechanics wire to the antenna lead (2).




2. Guide the antenna cable through the windshield side pillar with the aid of the mechanics wire.
3. Install the antenna (1) to the windshield side pillar. Secure the antenna with the 2 screws.
4. Remove the mechanics wire from the antenna lead.
5. Connect radio antenna lead to the antenna extension cable, near the junction block beneath the left side of the instrument panel.
