Defroster Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the floor air outlet. Refer to Air Outlet Replacement - Floor Air Outlet Replacement - Floor.
2. Roll back the instrument panel. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
3. Remove the clips holding the air distribution case to the heater case.
4. Remove the clips holding the case halves together.




5. Separate the air distribution case (16) from the blower case (8).
6. Remove the top half of the air distribution case from the vehicle.
7. Remove the mode actuator screws.
8. Remove the mode actuator.
9. Remove the defrost door from the HVAC module.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the defrost door into the HVAC module.
2. Install the mode actuator.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the mode actuator screws.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

4. Install the top half of the air distribution case into the vehicle.
5. Align the air distribution case (16) to the blower case (8).
6. Install the case clips.
7. Install the clips holding the air distribution case to the heater case.
8. Roll the instrument panel forward. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
9. Install the floor air outlet. Refer to Air Outlet Replacement - Floor Air Outlet Replacement - Floor.
