Clutch Brake Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the clutch release bearing. Refer to Release Bearing Replacement Release Bearing Replacement.
2. Remove the clutch brake.
Installation Procedure
Important: Clutch brakes intended for service usage can be identified by a plastic button on the roll pin that fastens the opening side of the brake. They are not ready for use. This button must be pressed flush to the brake surface before initial engine start up.
1. Install the clutch brake with the plastic button towards the transmission.
2. Install the clutch release bearing. Refer to Release Bearing Replacement Release Bearing Replacement.
3. After the transmission has been installed, using a suitable tool, completely release the clutch, stroking the bearing through its full range of travel.
Important: The clutch brake must lay flat against the transmission bearing cover.
4. Verify that the plastic button is flush with the friction material on the brake.
