Clutch Housing Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: The clutch housing is only serviceable with the 8.1L engine, equipped with regular production options (RPOs) MM7/MNC/MPU/MSC/MSG.





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle, if required. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair in General Information.
2. Remove the clutch release bearing. Refer to Release Bearing Replacement Release Bearing Replacement.
3. Remove the flywheel housing cover extension bolts, bracket, caution tag, and extension.




4. Remove the flywheel housing cover bolts and cover, if necessary.




5. Remove the transmission bolts.




6. Remove the flywheel housing adapter bolts and adapter, if necessary.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the flywheel housing adapter and bolts, if necessary.

Tighten the flywheel housing adapter bolts to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).




2. Install the transmission bolts.

Tighten the transmission bolts to 142 Nm (105 lb ft).




3. Install the flywheel housing cover and bolts.

Tighten the flywheel housing cover bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).




4. Install the flywheel housing cover extension, caution tag, bracket, and bolts.

Tighten the flywheel housing cover extension bolts to 43 Nm (32 lb ft).

5. Install the clutch release bearing. Refer to Release Bearing Replacement Release Bearing Replacement.
6. Lower the vehicle, if required.
