Rack and Pinion Inner Tie Rod Replacement - On Vehicle

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the outer tie rod.





3. Remove the boot (3).





4. Unstake the lock washer (2).
5. Remove the inner tie rod (1) from the rack (33.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install a new lock washer (2) and inner tie rod (1) to the rack.
Tighten the inner tie rod to 85 Nm (61.5 ft. lbs.).
2. Stake the lock washer at the flat spots on the inner tie rod.





3. Install the boot (3).
4. Install the outer tie rod.
5. Lower the vehicle.
