Brake Pedal Assembly ReplacementRemoval Procedure
Important The brake pedal and support bracket are one piece. The brake pedal is not serviced separately from the support bracket.
1. Remove the steering column assembly.
2. Remove the stop light switch electrical connector.
3. Remove the retaining clip for the clevis pin.
4. Remove the clevis pin.
5. Remove the brake pedal support bracket to bulkhead retaining nuts.
6. Remove the brake pedal support bracket to bulkhead retaining nuts.
7. Remove the brake pedal support bracket mounting bolts.
8. Remove the brake pedal assembly.
9. Remove the stop lamp switch.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stop lamp switch.
2. Install the brake pedal support bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the brake pedal support bracket mounting bolts.
^ Tighten the brake pedal mounting bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the brake pedal mounting nuts.
^ Tighten the brake pedal mounting nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the retaining clip for the clevis pin.
6. Install the stop lamp electrical connector.
7. Install the steering column assembly.
