Interior - Road Noise Inside Vehicle

Road Noise Entering Passenger Compartment (Install Insulator)

Models:
2003-2005 Chevrolet SSR

Condition

Some customers may comment on road noise inside the vehicle at speeds of 48 km/h (30 mph) and higher.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the pressure relief valve allowing noise to enter the cab.

Correction

Install a foam insulator in front of the left and right pressure relief valve following the procedure below.

1. Remove the rear wheel.

2. Remove the wheelhouse liner.

3. Clean the outer panel outward of the pressure relief valve.

4. Peel back the tape from the insulator and with the sticky side facing the outer panel, slide the insulator between the pressure relief valve and the outer panel and stick in place.

5. Install the wheelhouse liner.

6. Install the wheel.
