B1293
DTC B1293
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The power sliding door module (PSDM) supplies the power and ground to operate the power sliding door (PSD) clutch, which is part of the PSD clutch/motor assembly. Upon receiving a PSD request, the PSDM supplies 12 volts battery positive voltage through the clutch control circuit to the clutch. The clutch is grounded via the clutch ground circuit to the PSDM. With the clutch energized, the sliding door cables are mechanically connected to the PSD motor and the sliding door is powered to either the open or closed position. When the clutch is de-energized, the sliding door can be operated manually.
DTC DESCRIPTOR
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B1293 Power Sliding Door Clutch Control Circuit
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
A PSD open or close function is attempted.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
A PSD clutch control circuit fault is detected by the PSDM.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
- The PSDM will attempt to operate the sliding door and stop if the condition is current.
- The PSDM sets a DTC B1293.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
When the PSDM no longer senses the failure and the scan tool is used to clear the DTC.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Inspect the sliding door clutch pigtail harness and connector terminals for damage.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Step 1 - Step 6:
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
3. Tests the PSDMs ability to provide power and ground to energize the clutch.
