Energy Storage Box (ESB) High Current Connector Replacement



ENERGY STORAGE BOX (ESB) HIGH CURRENT CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the energy storage box (ESB).
2. Remove the ESB intermediate cover.
3. Remove the 42-volt positive/negative cable retainer nuts, and retainer.




4. Remove the red connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
5. Disconnect the 42-volt positive/negative cable electrical connector (4).




6. Remove the service disconnect power cable nut (1) and cable from the high current connector (HCC).




7. Remove the HCC power cable nut and cable from battery 3.
8. Remove the HCC screws.




9. Remove the HCC.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the HCC.




2. Install the HCC screws.

Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the HCC power cable and nut to battery 3.

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




4. Install the service disconnect power cable and nut (1) to the HCC.

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




5. Connect the 42-volt positive/negative cable electrical connector (4).
6. Install the red CPA retainer.




7. Install the 42-volt positive/negative cable retainer and nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

8. Install the ESB intermediate cover.
