Energy Storage Box (ESB) 120V Cable Replacement
ENERGY STORAGE BOX (ESB) 120V CABLE REPLACEMENT
CAUTION:
- To reduce the risk of severe shock and burns, disable the 42 volt (42V) system anytime you perform service work on or around the energy storage box (ESB). The 42V system will still be active after you have disabled the ESB.
- To reduce the risk of severe shock and burns, always disconnect the 42 volt (42V) energy storage box (ESB) before doing any work to the ESB system. To disconnect the ESB, turn the engine off and turn OFF the service disconnect switch, which is located on the passenger side of the ESB.
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the 120-volt AC electrical connector (3).
2. Remove the energy storage box (ESB) intermediate cover.
3. Remove the receptacle outlet cover screws (1).
4. Remove the 120-volt cable connector screws.
5. Disconnect the retainers securing the 120-volt cable to the ESB.
6. Note the routing of the 120-volt cable.
7. Remove the 120-volt cable (1) out through the receptacle opening (2) in the ESB.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Feed the 120-volt cable (1) through the receptacle opening (2) in the ESB.
2. Route the 120-volt cable as noted earlier.
3. Connect the retainers securing the 120-volt cable within the ESB.
4. Install the 120-volt cable connector screws.
Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the receptacle outlet cover screws (1).
Tighten the screws to 0.5 N.m (4.4 lb in).
6. Install the ESB intermediate cover.
7. Connect the 120-volt AC electrical connector (3).
