Energy Storage Box (ESB) 120V Receptacle Face Plate Replacement



ENERGY STORAGE BOX (ESB) 120V RECEPTACLE FACE PLATE REPLACEMENT

CAUTION:
- To reduce the risk of severe shock and burns, disable the 42 volt (42V) system anytime you perform service work on or around the energy storage box (ESB). The 42V system will still be active after you have disabled the ESB.
- To reduce the risk of severe shock and burns, always disconnect the 42 volt (42V) energy storage box (ESB) before doing any work to the ESB system. To disconnect the ESB, turn the engine off and turn OFF the service disconnect switch, which is located on the passenger side of the ESB.


REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the energy storage box (ESB) intermediate cover.
2. Disconnect the 120-volt AC electrical connector (3).




3. Remove the receptacle outlet screws (1).




4. Carefully pull the receptacle outlet (3) out of the ESB until the retaining tabs are accessible.
5. Insert a small flat-bladed tool into the openings (1) in the receptacle box in order to release the tabs securing the face plate.
6. Remove the receptacle face plate (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the receptacle face plate (2) to the receptacle box (3).
2. Push inward until the retaining tabs lock into the openings (1) in the receptacle box.




3. Install the receptacle box (2) into the ESB.
4. Install the receptacle outlet screws (1).

Tighten the screws to 0.5 N.m (4.4 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Connect the 120-volt AC electrical connector (3).
6. Install the ESB intermediate cover.
