Energy Storage Box (ESB) Battery Vent Hose Replacement
ENERGY STORAGE BOX (ESB) BATTERY VENT HOSE REPLACEMENT
CAUTION:
- To reduce the risk of severe shock and burns, disable the 42 volt (42V) system anytime you perform service work on or around the energy storage box (ESB). The 42V system will still be active after you have disabled the ESB.
- To reduce the risk of severe shock and burns, always disconnect the 42 volt (42V) energy storage box (ESB) before doing any work to the ESB system. To disconnect the ESB, turn the engine off and turn OFF the service disconnect switch, which is located on the passenger side of the ESB.
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the energy storage box (ESB) intermediate cover.
IMPORTANT: Note the location and routing of the battery vent hose for ease of reassembly.
2. Disengage the retainers (3) securing the battery vent hose.
3. Disconnect the battery vent hose from the air duct hose (2).
4. Disconnect the battery vent hose from the batteries.
5. Remove all pieces of the battery vent hose assembly from the ESB that are required for service.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the battery vent hose assembly (1) to the ESB as noted during removal.
2. Connect the battery vent hose to the batteries.
3. Connect the battery vent hose to the air duct hose (2).
4. Engage the retainers (3) securing the battery vent hose.
5. Install the ESB intermediate cover.
