DTC C0201

Circuit Description

The solenoid relay, located within the electronic brake control module (EBCM), supplies battery voltage to all of the valve solenoids.

DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC C0201 Antilock Brake System (ABS) Enable Relay Contact Circuit

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The EBCM detects that the solenoid relay is open for 200 milliseconds, when the relay is supposed to be closed.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

* The EBCM disables the ABS/dynamic rear proportion (DRP).
* The ABS indicator turns ON.
* The ABS fault message turns ON.
* The brake warning indicator turns ON.
* The brakes message is displayed.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The Conditions for Setting the DTC are no longer present and you use the scan tool Clear DTCs function.

Diagnostic Aids

Inspect for poor connections that may affect the battery positive voltage circuit to terminal 1 of the EBCM, if this DTC continues to set intermittently. Replace the EBCM, if no wiring concerns are found.
