Tick Noise in Instrument Panel Cluster (Replace IPC)

This bulletin is being revised to change step 6 under Correction. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-49-004 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment on a ticking noise in the indicator needle of any of the four gauges in the instrument panel (IP) cluster.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the stepper motor moving the needle of any of the four gauges.

Correction

Verify the customer concern.

Remove the old IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in SI.

Obtain a new IP cluster from an Electronic Service Center (ESC).

Install the new IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in SI.

Reprogram the new IP cluster with the latest calibration available through TIS.

Inform customers that the gauge indicator needles will sweep from minimum to maximum then back to minimum position at vehicle start up.

Parts Information

Contact any Electronic Service Center (ESC) to obtain a new IP cluster.
