2007 GMC Sierra
with 6.6L Duramax(TM) Turbo Diesel Engine (VIN 6 - RPO LMM)
Attention:
The Clean Exhaust Filter light will illuminate and the MIL/SES light illuminates immediately after due to the result of an incorrect or improperly installed engine air filter and may not be a warrantable claim. The best way to avoid air filter quality concerns is to purchase ACDelco(R) air filters directly from GMSPO.

Condition
Some customers may comment that the Clean Exhaust Filter light is illuminated and that the MIL/SES light illuminates immediately after. This may or may not have allowed the customer to get the vehicle into the regeneration window. Upon further investigation, technicians may find that the following DTC(s) were stored:
^ P244B - Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Too High
^ P2463 - Diesel Particulate Filter Soot Level Accumulation
Cause
The cause may be due to excessive soot production when pulling a trailer or loads in excess of 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs). The soot production may increase while pulling these loads over light or medium grades. The air filter may contribute to the soot accumulation at these operating conditions.
Correction
Technicians should perform all SI diagnostics for the following DTC(s):
^ P244B - Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Too High
^ P2463 - Diesel Particulate Filter Soot Level Accumulation
If no concern is found (NTF), then replace the air filter with P/N 25839611.
