Date: June 08, 2007

INFORMATION

Subject:
Information on Manual Transfer Case RPO NQG Conversion from NP2 Usage

Models:
2007 Chevrolet Silverado
2007 GMC Sierra

with 4WD and Manual Transfer Case (RPO NQG)

Supercede:

This bulletin is being revised to provide the VIN breakpoints for converting back to RPO NQG transfer case usage from RPO NP2 at the plants. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-04-21-001 (Section 04 - Driveline/Axle).

Certain 2007 new body style Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickups may indicate on the Service Parts Identification Label that the vehicle is equipped with manual transfer case (RPO NQG); however, RPO NP2 model transfer case was installed. The subject vehicles can be identified by a blue label on the lower portion of the transfer case.

The conversion back to RPO NQG transfer case usage has been completed at the plants. Refer to the VIN breakpoint information above.

If it becomes necessary to service the manual transfer case on these specific vehicles, please be aware that the NP2 transfer case requires 1.9 liters of fluid. If any repairs are required, refer to SI under Transfer Case NVG261-NP2.
