This bulletin is being sent to involved dealers only. The bulletin will be available for all other dealers through SI.

This service update includes vehicles in dealer inventory and customer vehicles that return for any type of service and will expire at the end of the involved vehicle's New Vehicle Limited Warranty period.

Purpose

This bulletin provides a service procedure to replace the two right rear caliper attachment bolts on certain 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 Series vehicles. The torque applied to the two right rear caliper attachment bolts may have been higher than specified.

This service procedure should be completed as soon as possible on involved vehicles currently in dealer inventory and customer vehicles that return to the dealer for any type of service during the New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage period.





Vehicles Involved





Parts Information

Parts required to complete this service update are to be obtained from General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). Please refer to your "involved vehicles listing" before ordering parts. Normal orders should be placed on a DRO = Daily Replenishment Order. In an emergency situation, parts should be ordered on a CSO = Customer Special Order.

Service Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.

2. Remove the right rear passenger side tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal in SI.





3. Remove and discard the two brake caliper bracket bolts (5). Do not remove both bolts at the same time. Remove one bolt and proceed to Steps 4-5. Remove the second bolt and proceed to Step 4-5.

4. Apply Threadlocker to the new brake caliper bracket bolt (5).

5. Install the new brake caliper bracket bolt (5).

Tighten

Tighten the new brake caliper bracket bolt to 200 Nm (148 lb ft).

6. Install the right rear passenger side tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal in SI.

7. Lower the vehicle.
