DTC Descriptor
DTC B3250
- Power Sliding Door Position Signal Circuit
Circuit/System Description
The power sliding door control module (PSDM) uses an optical sensor to monitor the power sliding door (PSD) position at all times. The optical sensor requires a 5-volt reference circuit and a reference return circuit from the PSDM. There are also 2 signal circuits from the PSDM to the optical sensor. The optical sensor sends pulses through both signal circuits to the PSDM whenever the PSD is in motion. The optical sensor pulses allow the PSDM to calculate the position of the PSD at all times. The optical sensor signal circuits switch from 0.01-4.5 volts as the PSD is moving.
Conditions for Running the DTC
A DTC B3250 may be set whenever the PSD is in motion.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The PSDM does not detect the optical sensor pulses while the PSD is opening or closing.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* The PSDM will attempt to operate the PSD and stop if the condition is current.
* The PSDM sets a DTC B3250.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* This DTC will change from current to history when the fault is no longer present.
* A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
* The technician issues a scan tool CLEAR DTCs command.

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool PSD Position Sensor 1 and PSD Position Sensor 2 while manually opening and closing the sliding door. The counts should vary while opening and closing the sliding door.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X2 at the appropriate sliding door module.
2. Ignition ON, test for 4.5-5.5 volts between the sliding door sensor voltage reference circuit terminal 12 and ground.
• If greater or less than the specified range, replace the appropriate sliding door module.
3. Ignition OFF, test less than 3 ohms of resistance between the sliding door sensor low reference circuit 13 and ground.
• If greater that the specified range, replace the appropriate sliding door module.
4. Ignition ON, test for 4.5-5.5 volts betwen the sliding door sensor voltage reference circuit terminal 12 and sliding door sensor 1 signal terminal 10.
• If greater or less than the specified range, replace the appropriate sliding door module.
5. Test for 4.5-5.5 volts between the sliding door sensor voltage reference circuit terminal 12 and sliding door sensor 2 signal terminal 11.
• If greater or less than the specified range, replace the appropriate sliding door module.
6. If all readings test normal, replace the appropriate sliding door motor assembly.
