DTC Descriptor
DTC B3260
- Power Sliding Door Secondary Latch Circuit
Circuit/System Description
The power sliding door (PSD) latch/unlatch motor/actuator is responsible for latching and unlatching the PSD when the power sliding door control module (PSDM) has received a request to open or close the door. The latch/unlatch motor/actuator receives battery positive voltage from the PSDM via the PSD latch/unlatch motor/actuator control circuit. Ground is supplied to the motor/actuator via G301 for the left side sliding door and G302 for the right side sliding door. The PSDM monitors the voltage on the latch/unlatch motor/actuator control circuit during latching and unlatching operations in order to determine when a failure has occurred.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The PSD latch/unlatch motor/actuator circuit is open, short to ground, or short to battery while the PSDM is attempting to latch or unlatch the door.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* The PSDM will attempt to operate the door and stop if the condition is current.
* The PSDM sets a DTC B3260.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* This DTC will change from current to history when the fault is no longer present.
* A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
* The technician issues a scan tool CLEAR DTCs command.
Diagnostic Aids
Inspect the PSD plungers and corresponding B-Pillar pads for the following conditions:
* Proper door plunger operation
* Clean electrical contact from the door plungers to the B-pillar pads
* Proper alignment of the door plungers to the B-pillar pads

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, command the appropriate power sliding door to UNLATCH, OPEN, CLOSE and LATCH with a scan tool. The appropriate power sliding door should unlatch, open, close and latch.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X1 at the appropriate door contact plate.
2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal C and ground.
• If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit terminal D for an open/high resistance.
3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal G and ground.
4. Ignition ON, command the appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator to LATCH and UNLATCH with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
• If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal replace the appropriate PSDM.
• If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or and open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the appropriate PSDM
5. Ignition OFF, reconnect the harness connector X1 at the appropriate door contact plate. Close the appropriate sliding door and disconnect the harness connector X2. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal D and ground.
• If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance, if the circuit tests normal, replace the appropriate door contact plate.
6. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal G and ground.
7. Ignition ON, command the appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator to LATCH and UNLATCH with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
• If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal replace the appropriate door contact plate.
• If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or and open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the appropriate door contact plate.
8. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator.
9. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal A and ground.
• If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit terminal A for an open/high resistance.
10. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal B and ground.
11. Ignition ON, command the appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator to LATCH and UNLATCH with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states
• If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage.
• If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or and open/high resistance.
12. If the circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate sliding door unlatch actuator.
Component Testing
1. Install a 15A fused jumper wire between the control terminal B and 12 volts. Install a jumper wire between the ground terminal A and ground.
2. Observe the operation of the sliding door unlatch actuator LATCH or UNLATCH.
• If the function does not perform as specified, replace the sliding door unlatch actuator.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
* Power Sliding Door Unlatch Actuator Replacement (Service and Repair)
* Sliding Door Jamb Contact Plate Replacement (Service and Repair)
