Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the right knock sensor.
2. Remove the catalytic converter from the right exhaust manifold. Service and Repair
3. Disconnect the power cord from the coolant heater, if equipped.
4. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
5. Remove the CKP sensor stud (2).
6. Remove the CKP sensor (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CKP sensor (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).
3. Install the CKP sensor stud (2).
Tighten
Tighten the stud to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
4. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the CKP sensor.
5. Connect the power cord to the coolant heater, if equipped.
6. Install the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. Service and Repair
7. Connect the electrical connector to the right knock sensor.
8. Perform the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn procedure. Testing and Inspection
