DTC P0802 Transmission Control Module (TCM) MIL Request CircuitCircuit Description
The transmission control module (TCM) requests to illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) through the request circuit to the ECM when the TCM sets a MIL request DTC(s). If the ECM detects the MIL illumination request circuit is open or voltage level is high when MIL illumination is not requested by the TCM this DTC will set. This DTC will only run once per driving cycle within the enabling conditions.
Condition for Running the DTC
^ The ignition switch is ON.
Condition for Setting the DTC
^ The ECM detects that the MIL request circuit is open circuit or the voltage level is high when MIL illumination is not requested by the TCM.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
^ The ECM illuminates the MIL on the second consecutive driving cycle when the diagnostic runs and fails. Refer to DTC Type Definitions for Action Taken When the DTC Sets - Type B.
Condition for Clearing the DTC
^ Refer to DTC Type Definitions for Condition for Clearing the MIL/DTC - Type B.
Diagnostic Aids
^ If an intermittent condition is suspected refer to Intermittent Conditions in this section.
