DTC Descriptor
DTC P0C1A
- Drive Motor 2 Torque Delivered Performance
Circuit/System Description
Each drive motor generator is controlled by a motor control module (MCM). The MCM constantly monitors the requested torque and the delivered torque of its respective drive motor generator.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* Ignition voltage is 8-18 volts.
* Drive motor generator is commanded to develop torque.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The MCM has detected that drive motor generator torque is not being delivered as expected.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* DTC P0C1A is a Type A DTC.
* The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) commands the battery energy control module (BECM) to open the high voltage contactor relays.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P0C1A is a Type A DTC.
Diagnostic Aids
Because the drive axle and drive motor 2 are joined mechanically through a planetary gear set, a drive axle condition that requires drive motor generator 2 to utilize excessive current while trying to rotate the drive axle may cause this DTC to set.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Inspect for DTCs P0A45, P0A46, P0A79, P0BFE, P0C04, P0C08, P0C0E, P0C18, P0C4F, P0C57, P0C58, P0C61, P0C62, P1AFE, P1B04, or P1B10.
• If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions).
2. Clear the DTC information.
3. Turn the ignition OFF for 1 minute.
4. Attempt to start the engine.
5. Retest for DTC P0C1A.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Inspect for DTCs P0A45, P0A46, P0A79, P0BFE, P0C04, P0C08, P0C0E, P0C18, P0C4F, P0C57, P0C58, P0C61, P0C62, P1AFE, P1B04, or P1B10.
• If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions).
2. Repair the following conditions if observed:
Important: If a seized or binding drive axle is observed, internal transmission damage may have occurred.
* Seized or binding drive axle
* Seized or binding transfer case (4 wheel drive option)
* Seized or binding braking system
3. Drive the vehicle, retest for DTC P0C1A.
• If the DTC resets, program the PIM with the latest software version and recheck for DTCs. If the DTC resets after programming or if the PIM already contains the latest software version, replace the drive motor generator.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
