J-39400-A - Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure




1. Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2).
2. Remove the A/C refrigerant valve (2).
3. Remove and discard the O-ring seal (3).

Installation Procedure





Note: DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity oil on the NEW O-ring to enter the refrigerant system.

1. Lightly coat the NEW O-ring seal with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the O-ring seal (3) onto the valve if necessary.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the A/C refrigerant valve (2) and tighten to 11 Nm (98 lb in).
4. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2).
5. Leak test the fitting valve area using the J-39400-A - detector.
6. Install the service port cap (1).
