P0C19
DTC P0C19
Diagnostic Instructions
* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (Diagnostic Procedure Instructions) provides an overview of each diagnostic category.
DTC Descriptor
DTC P0C19
- Drive Motor 1 Torque Delivered Performance
Circuit/System Description
Each drive motor generator is controlled by a motor control module (MCM). The MCM constantly monitors the requested torque and the delivered torque of its respective drive motor generator.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* Ignition voltage is 8-18 volts.
* Drive motor generator is commanded to develop torque.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The MCM has detected that drive motor generator torque is not being delivered as expected.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* DTC P0C19 is a Type A DTC.
* The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) commands the battery energy control module (BECM) to open the high voltage contactor relays.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P0C19 is a Type A DTC.
Diagnostic Aids
Because the engine and drive motor 1 are joined mechanically through a planetary gear set, an engine condition that requires drive motor 1 to consume excessive current while trying to rotate the engine may cause this DTC to set.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Inspect for DTCs P0A3F, P0A40, P0A78, P0BFD, P0C01, P0C05, P0C0B, P0C17, P0C4E, P0C52, P0C53, P0C5C, P0C5D, P1AF8, P1B03, or P1B0F.
• If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle).
2. Clear the DTC information.
3. Turn the ignition OFF for 1 minute.
4. Attempt to start the engine.
5. Retest for DTC P0C19.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Inspect for DTCs P0A3F, P0A40, P0A78, P0BFD, P0C01, P0C05, P0C0B, P0C17, P0C4E, P0C52, P0C53, P0C5C, P0C5D, P1AF8, P1B03, or P1B0F.
• If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle).
2. Inspect for the following conditions:
Important: If a seized condition is observed, internal transmission damage may have occurred.
* Seized or binding engine
* Seized or binding accessory drive belt
• If a seized or binding condition is observed, repair as required.
3. Attempt to drive the vehicle and retest for DTC P0C19.
• If the DTC resets and the vehicle makes no attempt to crank the engine, program the PIM with the latest software version and recheck for DTCs. If the DTC resets after programming or if the PIM already contains the latest software version, replace the PIM.
• If the engine initially starts but the vehicle later stalls, replace the drive motor generator assembly.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
