Subject: Information on Revised Tire Replacement Recommendations for 2WD Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle

Tire Usage Change

Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles built before January 17th, 2011 were equipped with Goodyear H-speed rated tires (RPO QVT) (GM P/N 19162484). Vehicles produced after this date are equipped with Goodyear V-speed rated tires (RPO QAR) (GM P/N 19254959). Vehicles originally equipped with H-speed rated tires should continue to be serviced with H-speed rated tires until stock of this tire is depleted.

Tire Recommendations

Once the stock of H-speed rated tires is exhausted, use of the V-speed rated tire is approved to service vehicles originally equipped with the H-speed rated tire. Performance characteristics of these tires are the same, making it acceptable to intermix the V-speed rated tires on the vehicle with the previous H-speed rated tires.

Notice
Vehicles built after January 17th, 2011 and originally equipped with V-speed rated tires should ONLY be serviced with the V-speed rated tire.
