Air Injection: Testing and Inspection

1. Excessive belt noise:
a. Loose belt.
b. Seized pump.

2. Excessive pump noise:
a. Insufficient air pump break-in time.
b. Hose leakage.
c. Loose hose connection.
d. Hose contacting other engine components.
e. Diverter valve or [1][2]air switching valve inoperative.
f. Check valve inoperative.
g. Air pump mounting bolts loose.
h. Air pump inoperative.

3. No air supply:
a. Loose drive belt.
b. Leak in air supply hose.
c. Air hose fittings are leaking.
d. Diverter valve or [1][2]air switching valve leaking.
