7-Step D, Ignition Coil Control Wire For Short

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine test connector, place ignition switch in the Off position.
2. Disconnect wire from ignition coil negative terminal.
3. Connect an analog voltmeter between ignition coil negative terminal and ground.
4. Place system in ATM test mode code 01.
5. If voltmeter reading is cycling within 1 volt of battery voltage, proceed to Test 7 step E.
6. If voltmeter reading is not cycling within 1 volt of battery voltage, replace ignition coil.
