DISCUSSION

To improve the overall 5th gear operation of the KM132-B and KM132-G series manual transmission, the finish and configuration of the 5th gear system has been changed. This change entered transmission production October, 1988, and vehicle production November, 1988.

If the 5th gear system requires reconditioning, the new 5th speed main shaft gear and 5th speed countershaft gear should be installed. Refer to Figure 1 for the gear part numbers and visual identificatioin details on the KM132-B transmission and Figure 2 for the KM132-G transmission.

INTERCHANGEABILITY

The parts are interchangeable only if the 5th speed main shaft gear and 5th speed countershaft gear are replaced together.
