Throttle Kickdown Rod Adjustment
NOTE: For correct kickdown rod adjustment, idle must be within specified limits. Specifications1. Warm up engine and run at idle (make sure fast idle cam is released).
2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
3. Loosen the lock screw at transmission lever, and check that the linkage is not binding and can be adjusted without any restriction.
4. While holding the transmission lever firmly forward against its internal stop, tighten the lock screw to 100 lb-in (11 Nm).
5. Lower vehicle and test operation of linkage by moving the throttle rod rearward, and slowly releasing it to ensure that it returns completely forward.
