Before attempting to diagnose, remove or install any airbag system components, you must first disconnect and isolate the battery ground cable. Failure to do so could result in accidental deployment and possible personal injury.
To diagnose and test the airbag system, the DRBII readout tool must be connected to the ASDM, following manufacturer's instructions. The module is located behind the center console on all models except Fifth Avenue. Fifth Avenue models have a DRBII connector located in the right kick panel.
Begin testing with TEST 1, SYSTEM FUNCTION found under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS.
