FRONT SEAT RECLINER LEVER LOCATION


The 1989 AL body production at Jefferson Assembly Plant between 2/27/89 and 3/27/89 had the front seat positions reversed to locate the recliner mechanism on the inboard side of the seat. Consequently, the right front seat was installed in the left side of the car and the left front seat was installed in the right side of the car.

All 1989 vehicles built prior to 2/27/89 and after 3/27/89 will have the recliner mechanism located on the outboard side of the seats.

Since no new part numbers were issued to reflect this change, it is important to remember, when ordering front seat parts for these cars built between 2/27/89 and 3/27/89 (inboard recliners), that the seats were reversed.
