SYMPTOM/CONDITION

A loose or leaking cap on the wastegate solenoid on the 2.5L turbocharged engine may cause a momentary loss of engine power during acceleration.


DIAGNOSIS

The wastegate control will become ineffective causing the instrument panel power loss lamp to light and a "Boost Limit Exceeded" fault code to be recorded in the SMEC that is detectable with the DRB II. This condition can be corrected by installing the driveability package listed below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Install the rubber cap over the end of the 3/16" connector as shown in Figure 1.
2. Install the hose over the open end of the connector.

3. Remove the rubber cap from the top port of the wastegate solenoid and install the assembled parts from the parts kit on the open port.
