Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
1. When the SCAN tool has been correctly connected and powered up, the first menu that will be displayed will look like the following list:1) VEHICLES TESTED
2) HOW TO USE
3) CONFIGURE
4) SELECT SYSTEM
2. Select menu option 4) SELECT SYSTEM by pressing the numeric key #4.
3. After you have selected 4) SELECT SYSTEM, a menu will be displayed that will look like the following list:
1) ENGINE
2) TRANSMISSION
3) BODY SYSTEMS
4) SUSPENSION
5) ABS
6) PASSIVE REST
7) THEFT ALARM
4. Select menu option 3) BODY SYSTEMS by pressing the numeric key #3.
5. After this option has been selected, the SCAN tool will display a couple different messages. The SCAN tool should display all of the following including one of the possibilities under #1):
1) TEST OF CCD IN PROGRESS
A) TEST OF CCD BUS COMPLETED (BUS OPERATIONAL)
B) TEST OF CCD BUS COMPLETED (ERROR DESCRIPTION)
2) SCAN OF CCD BUS MODULES IN PROGRESS
3) SCAN OF CCD BUS MODULES COMPLETED
6. After these messages have been displayed, a menu will be displayed that will ask you to select from a list of options. The options are listed below:
1) A-BODY TRAVELER
2) BODY CONTROLLER
3) TRAVELER
4) CLUSTER
5) ENGINE NODE
6) EVIC
7. Select menu option 4) CLUSTER by pressing numeric key #4.
8. After you select 4) CLUSTER a menu will be displayed that looks like this:
1) DISPLAY TESTS, CLUSTER
2) DISPLAY FAULT CODES, CLUSTER
3) SWITCH TEST, CLUSTER
9. Select menu option 2) DISPLAY FAULT CODES, CLUSTER, by pressing numeric key #2.
10. Select menu option 2) DISPLAY FAULT CODES, CLUSTER, by pressing numeric key #2.
11. This selection will test the whole instrument cluster system and its C2D circuit. After it performs all of the tests, it determines if there are any faults for any of the systems and reveals them as fault codes or messages. If no faults or messages were found, the message "NO FAULT CODES, CLUSTER" will appear on the screen. If any faults are stored, the fault code will be displayed first, then the message or description will follow.
