Verification Test VER-2A - Road Test Verification
1. Inspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. assemble and connect components as necessary.2. If another fault was read previously that has not been dealt with return to TEST FC-1A and follow the path specified by the other fault.
IF THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED
Reset Adaptive Memory:
1. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector and erase faults.
2. Using scantool reset all values in adaptive memory.
3. Disconnect scantool.
Ensure No Faults Remain:
1. Turn on the air conditioning and blower, if equipped.
2. Drive the vehicle for at least five minutes, verify transmission shifts through all gears, and exceed 40 mph at least once.
3. Turn engine OFF.
4. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle for at least two minutes.
5. Turn the engine off.
6. Connect the scantool to the data link connector.
7. Using scantool, read all fault messages.
8. If the repaired fault has reset, the repair is not complete. Check pertinent Technical Service Bulletins and return to TEST FC-1A if no TSB's apply.
9. If there is another fault return to TEST FC-1A.
10. If there are no faults set, the repair is now complete.
IF THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) HAS BEEN CHANGED ENSURE NO FAULTS REMAIN:
1. Turn on the air conditioning and blower, if equipped.
2. Drive the vehicle for at least five minutes, verify transmission shifts through all gears, and exceed 40 mph at least once.
3. Turn engine OFF.
4. Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle for at least two minutes.
5. Turn the engine off.
6. Connect the scantool to the data link connector.
7. Using scantool, read all fault messages.
8. If the repaired fault has reset, the repair is not complete. Check pertinent Technical Service Bulletins and return to TEST FC-1A if no TSB's apply.
9. If there is another fault return to TEST FC-1A.
10. If there are no faults set, the repair is now complete.
