9.1 Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure

Fuel Pressure Release:

1. Turn ignition key OFF.
2. Loosen the fuel filler cap to release fuel tank pressure.
3. Disconnect injector wiring harness connector from any one of the injectors.
4. Connect a jumper to ground terminal number 1 of the fuel injector connector.
5. Actuate the injector for 5 seconds by using jumper wires from the injector to the battery, pause for a few seconds, then actuate injector for 5 more seconds.
6. Remove jumper wires.
7. Continue fuel system service.

At this point, the pressure in the fuel line should be minimal. However, when opeing a fuel line, place a rag around the opening to prevent fuel from being sprayed due to residual pressure.
