Parking Brake System: Description and Operation

Parking Brake Construction Diagram:

WITH REAR DISC BRAKES
The parking brake is of a mechanical rear-wheel acting, drum-in-disc type. The operation method utilizes a parking brake lever which is in an offset position at the passenger's side.

WITH REAR DRUM BRAKES
The parking brake uses the service brakes and is cable operated, by pulling the brake shoes out against the drum.
