NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 3.2L OR 3.5L ENGINE.

DISCUSSION:

A running change was made on March 23, 1998 to the engine to transmission dowel length and block counterbore depth. The new dowel, p/n 06505643AA, is 16.5 mm long, the old dowel, p/n 05240849, was 12.5 mm long. Correspondingly the block counterbore depth is increased by 4 mm. The new dowel length and block counterbore depth cannot be mixed during service. The new and old dowels must protrude from the rear face of the block by 6.35 mm or they will not assemble into the transmission.
