SUBJECT:
Interior Lights Will Not Illuminate **Or Lights Staying On**
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves locating and repairing cut/grounded wires.
MODELS:
1998 - 1999 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/LHS/300M
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The interior lights will not illuminate and the fuse is blown **or the interior lights stay on**.
DIAGNOSIS:
Remove the eight (8) way connector on the headliner wire harness from the connector in the outboard drivers side of the junction block. If a new fuse does not blow perform the Repair Procedure. If a new fuse still blows continue normal diagnostic procedures.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.
1. Examine the headliner wiring location near both rear grab handles for cuts rub through and witness marks. Repair as necessary.
2. Connect the eight (8) way connector to see if the fuse will blow.
3. If the fuse blows remove the C-pillar and package shelf trim. Examine the wiring location near the trunk lamp for cuts, rub through and witness marks. Repair as necessary.
4. If the fuse still blows continue normal diagnostics of the headliner wiring harness.
