Flag Speaker Buzz

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AN INFINITY AUDIO SYSTEM.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Buzz noise coming from flag speaker in door. May be more noticeable while listening to "talk" radio segments with deep male voices.

DIAGNOSIS:

Tune radio to "talk" radio program preferably with male voices. If noise can be isolated to the flag speakers, or owner describes noise in flag speakers, perform the Repair Procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

2 05014669AA Seal/Gasket, Front Door Flag Speaker

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves installing revised seals/gaskets on the front door flag speakers.

1. Remove the two speaker enclosure attachment screws holding the enclosure/speaker assembly to the door.

2. Remove two speaker retaining screws.

3. Pull speaker away from the speaker enclosure.





4. Remove part number tag from wire near connector (Figure 1).

5. Remove existing speaker seal/gasket (Figure 1).

6. Install revised speaker seal/gasket, p/n 05014669AA, to speaker (Figure 1).

7. Install speaker to enclosure.

8. Make sure speaker grill tabs are not loose, tighten as necessary (Figure 1).

9. Install speaker enclosure assembly to door.

10. Repeat procedure on other side of vehicle.

POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
