SUBJECT:
Squeak/Creak Sound From Rear Spoiler

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves lubricating the rear spoiler mechanism.

MODELS:

2004 - 2005 (ZH) Crossfire Coupe/Crossfire Roadster

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicle built on or before May 24, 2004 (MDH 0524XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The vehicle operator may describe a squeaking/creaking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle when the rear spoiler is activated.

DIAGNOSIS:

If the technician determines the sound is coming from the spoiler area, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

NOTE:
This lubricant is contained in the Buzz, Squeak, & Rattle kit, p/n 05019062AA.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the lower liftgate/decklid trim panel. Refer to the service information available on TechCONNECT. Refer to 23 - Body/Decklid/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Trim Panel - Removal.








2. Once the spoiler motor is exposed, using krytox lubricant, p/n 05019059AA, lubricate the points referenced (Fig. 1) and (Fig. 2).

3. Install the liftgate trim panel.
