SUBJECT:
Enable Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves enabling the DRL using a scan tool (DRBIII(R)).
MODELS:
2005 (CS) Pacifica (U.S. Market Only)
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles, excluding Canada, equipped with DRL (fleet only sales code LMN).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The fleet vehicle operator may want the DRL enabled.
DIAGNOSIS:
The DRL system may not have been enabled at the factory on some fleet vehicles equipped with DRL.
If the fleet vehicle operator describes and the technician can verify that the DRL is inoperative, perform the Repair Procedure.
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
NOTE:
An updated J1962 cable has been released. This cable has a red colored connector at the DRBIII(R) connection. Use this cable whenever a flash is being performed.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE:
The DRBIII(R) must be programmed with the latest revision level available.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. Using the DRBIII(R), enable the DRL system as follows:

1.1998 - 2005 Diagnostics
1. All (Except Below)
3. Body Interior
1. Body Computer
9. Miscellaneous
8. Change Country Code
Go to page 2 of the "Select Country" menu
1. Canada
3. Disconnect the DRBIII(R).
4. Test the DRL system to be sure it is operational.
5. If the system is operational, proceed to Step # 8. If the system is not operational, proceed to Step # 6.
6. Verify that the vehicle is equipped with the fleet only sales code LMN.
7. Using the DRBIII(R), verify that the DRL is enabled. If the system is enabled but is not operational, further diagnosis is required.
8. Return the vehicle to the customer.
